TORONTO – This August 1st to October 31st 2021, Wines of Germany will launch “The Coolest Wines on Earth” campaign as the official wine partner at Canada’s largest shipping container market – stackt market in Toronto.
As the official wine partner, Wines of Germany will reveal ‘Berlin Bar’, a creatively curated and brand immersive experience including a pop-up wine tasting bar and adjacent outdoor patio artfully designed and furnished with graffiti art from the Berlin wall and comfortable lounge furnishings. In the spirit of Berlin’s famous nightclub scene, ‘Berlin Bar’ will host a DJ series on the first Friday of each month to kick up the vibe in the courtyard.
In keeping with its core values of sustainability and innovation, stackt has taken 100,000 SQ. FT of land in the heart of downtown Toronto and transformed it into an experience of curated discovery. Designed entirely out of shipping containers, stackt is an ever-evolving cultural marketplace that will feed your curiosity by expanding your thinking. The eco-system features a mix of local and international retailers, pop-up community events, outdoor art galleries and a mix of restaurants and outdoor patios with innovative culinary adventures. stackt is anchored by a strong mandate to support local art, music, social enterprise, and cultural communities. ‘Berlin Bar’ seeks to surprise and delight German wine enthusiasts and newbies alike. A curated discovery menu of more than 30 German sparkling, white, rose and red wines have been selected by the stackt hospitality team and Wines of Germany. The menu will change each month to show the diversity of German wines and the new and modern styles of Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Noir. For a fun twist, the stackt hospitality team will also be creating special summer drinks with German wines like frozen Bellinis and sparkling cocktails. Wines will be served across the outdoor patio spaces by the glass and by the bottle and offered for dine-in or take-out. Wines by the bottle come with a Wines of Germany branded single bottle cooler bag that can be frozen and reused to keep wines cool.
With provincial Covid measures lifting, attendance limits for gathering and sharing event experiences both indoor and outdoor have increased but social distancing is still in effect. Following provincial social distancing measures still in effect, guests will be asked to adhere to the provincial and health authorities’ guidelines to ensure it is a safe and welcoming environment for all to enjoy.
“We are excited to be working with such a unique partner like stackt with whom we share the same values to bring Toronto ‘Berlin Bar’, the first Wines of Germany pop up bar. We aimed to create a cool vibe at the ‘Berlin Bar’ patio and offer an exciting assortment of wines that pair with the diversity of cuisine on offer at stackt.” Ted Kalaboukis, Canadian Director for Wines of Germany said.
For those who have never tried a German wine, ‘Berlin Bar’ is a rare opportunity to find so many options all in one place and find out why German wines really are “The Coolest Wines on Earth.” Wines on offer at the tasting bar will be available for purchase by the botte at either LCBO stores, via LCBO.com or at the stackt market.
