TORONTO – September 25, 2018 – It is said it takes only 30 days to develop a new habit, so we offered Canadians 31 days to fall for the flavours of German Riesling. Over 40 restaurants and retailers joined this movement and dedicated July 2018 to German Rieslings.

Wines of Germany is pleased to announce the winners of 31 days of German Riesling:

Sarah Cameron, from Ottawa ON is the winner of the Long Weekend for Two to Berlin customer contest – Ms. Cameron enjoyed a glass of German wine at Bar Isabel located in Toronto ON.

Winner of the licensee draw is Mr. Bryant Mao, Wine Director at Hawksworth Restaurant in Vancouver, BC. Mr. Mao will participate in the elite Sommelier Summer Class in Germany in 2019. Upon learning of his prize Mr. Mao declared, “At Hawksworth, we always have a German Riesling by the glass.  From the traditional off-dry style or trocken. We love the vibrant acidity from the wine and also it’s versatility to pair with our seasonal dishes”.

“A big “DANKE” to everyone who participated in our 31 days of German Riesling by-the-glass program this year,” said Ted Kalaboukis, Director of Wines of Germany in Canada. “We are so happy to see how well received the activity is by consumers, restaurants and retailers. This is an excellent opportunity for our trade partners to share their love for German Rieslings with their clients, and to have them discover the versatility and diversity of German wines”. Congratulations to both our winners! 31 days of German Riesling is a world celebrated campaign to promote German Riesling. Cheers, or as they say in German, Zum Wohl!
